The River Gallery Foundation invites photographers from across Northwest Ohio to submit original images for an exciting new art installation project led by local muralist Dean Davis. Selected photographs will be transformed into small-to-medium interior wall murals for a new downtown Toledo organization, celebrating the people, places, and stories that make our region unique.
About the Project
This project continues River Gallery Foundation’s mission to make art accessible, locally rooted, and reflective of community pride. Under the creative direction of muralist Dean Davis, this new installation will bring the energy, history, and character of Northwest Ohio indoors, transforming everyday walls into visual stories.
Themes & Inspiration
We’re seeking photographs that highlight the heart of the 419: its landmarks, culture, and natural beauty. Submissions may reflect one or more of the following themes:
Jeep • Lake Erie • Swan Creek • Tony Packo’s • Inverness • Frogs • Maumee River • Otter River • Wildwood • UToledo Rockets • BG Falcons • Mud Hens • Walleye • Wellness & Reflection
From waterfront sunsets and game-day spirit to iconic Toledo landmarks and moments of quiet reflection, we want to see the region through your lens. Photographers can submit more than one photo.
Submission Guidelines
Open to all photographers in Northwest Ohio
Submit up to 5 high-resolution images (300 DPI or higher)
Include your name, email address, and a brief description of each photo
Submission Deadline: Friday, November 1, 2025
Each selected photographs will be credited and accompanied by a stipend of up to $400

How to be Creative
What does it really mean to be creative? How do you learn to be more creative? How do you “turn on” your creativity? This class for middle and high school artists explores the answers to these questions and aims to to teach the value of creativity in art and life.

Safety as an Artist
Visual artists work with a variety of chemicals, materials, and tools. This class will help young and new artists how to safely work with these materials in order to to avoid harm and longtime health issues than can come as a result of a long artistic career.
